The Social Apprenticeship Programme (SAP) is a 6-months long hybrid apprenticeship which provides youth the opportunity to find out more about careers in the social impact-making sector via a joint emphasis on individual mentoring sessions and exposure to the daily operations of the mentor’s social impact-making initiative. These initiative would be aligned with selected Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Don't limit yourself. SAP focuses on world-relevant issues (in line with the SDGs) to encourage and equip you with the necessary skills to contribute towards global goals. Every initiative counts!

Hybrid Programme

Why settle for an internship or mentorship when you can have both together? SAP offers a unique integration of both internship and mentorship opportunities so you can have the best of both worlds!

Just for You

We know life is tough and we feel you. SAP is a flexible programme which embraces youths from a diversity of backgrounds. Seeking a challenging full-time engagement or irregular sessions? Just discuss it with the mentors!

How to Apply

Applicants should be:

  1. Between 18 to 35 years old
  2. Passionate about at least one of the SDGs in the spotlight
  3. Proactive in seeking learning opportunities
  4. Able to attend all activities on the dates stated above
  5. Able to commit at least two days a month
  6. Comfortable with one-on-one communication with their mentors

To include youths from all all backgrounds, commitment is flexible and may be discussed with the mentors. However, we encourage youths to commit at least once a week to make the most of this apprenticeship.

For youths who require special arrangements (discuss it with us!), the minimum requirement would be two days a month – one mentoring session and one engagement session with the mentor’s initiative.

This programme is suitable for eligible full-time students, NSFs, and youths who are working.

Our mentors are from diverse backgrounds and initiatives – you’ll be surprised how different sectors may contribute to the same SDG!

Due to our focus on sustainability, you can expect mentors from social enterprises or non-profit organisations with a sustainable social impact model.

How much you benefit from the SAP is dependent on your attitude towards the programme. Thus, we will be selective in accepting applicants who are not just passionate about the cause, but also show the most potential in proactively engaging the mentors and contributing to their initiatives.

Please prepare a short statement (no more than 300 words) explaining your motivations in applying for this apprenticeship. You are advised to save a copy elsewhere as the application form might time-out after 20 minutes.

Shortlisted applicants will be invited for a coffee chat so that we can get to know you better (and you can get to know us too!).

Applications are now closed. The next intake is in June 2019 so please look forward to it!
